5 Day Itinerary for Morocco

Your 5-day itinerary in Morocco kicks off with a morning pick-up from your hotel or riad around 8:30 AM. You'll embark on a picturesque drive through the stunning High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi N’Tichka pass, which rises to 2,260 meters above sea level. As you traverse the mountains, you'll pass traditional Berber villages and see shepherds among the snow-capped peaks. There will be plenty of opportunities to stop for photos and enjoy a coffee break while taking in the breathtaking scenery.

By noon, you'll reach the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient village that has appeared in films like Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and Game of Thrones. After a guided tour of this historical treasure, the journey continues to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa.” Here, you can choose to visit Atlas Studios, the largest film studio in Africa, or continue with the tour.

The day's travel will lead you through the charming Vallée.

On the second day of your tour from Marrakech to Chefchaouen, you'll embark on a picturesque drive through Dades Valley. Here, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the Dades Gorges, renowned for their striking rock formations, often referred to as "Monkey Fingers."

Your journey will then take you to the Tinghir Oasis. As you pass through this verdant area, you'll be surrounded by stunning landscapes and have the opportunity to take a leisurely stroll through Todra Canyon, famous for its towering cliffs and recognized as one of Morocco's most beautiful natural wonders.

Next, you'll make your way to the Merzouga desert. Upon arrival, a camel caravan will be waiting to guide you on a mesmerizing sunset ride across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes, an experience you won't soon forget as it leads you to your desert camp.

As night descends, you'll enjoy a traditional Berber dinner at the camp. Following your meal, immerse yourself in an evening of drumming and singing around a campfire beneath the starry desert sky. You'll spend the night in your cozy accommodations.

Begin your day early to savor the tranquil sunrise at your desert camp. After breakfast, you can opt to return to Merzouga either on a camel or in a 4×4 vehicle.

Upon your return to Merzouga, you will meet your driver/guide and embark on a scenic journey to Fes. The route will take you through the breathtaking Ziz Valley, celebrated for its stunning landscapes. You will also traverse the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a stop at a Cedar Forest to observe the Barbary apes in their natural environment.

We will make a brief stop in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its picturesque Alpine-style architecture.

You will arrive in Fes by late afternoon and check into your Riad in the historic Medina. Take some time to relax and settle in for a comfortable night in this ancient city.

As you stroll through the ancient Medina, you will uncover the city’s rich history, explore its maze-like streets, and admire the beautiful architecture.

Take your time to savor a traditional Moroccan lunch in one of the Medina’s lively spots, soaking up the local flavors and atmosphere.

In the afternoon, we will head north to the picturesque town of Chefchaouen, famously known for its blue-washed buildings. This charming town is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploration. Settle into your cozy riad nestled in the heart of Chefchaouen, where you can relax and enjoy a peaceful evening surrounded by the town’s calming blue hues.

Begin your day with a delightful breakfast at your riad before setting out to explore the charm of Chefchaouen. This captivating town, renowned for its blue-washed streets and laid-back ambiance, invites you to meander through its narrow alleys, uncover hidden treasures, and browse vibrant local markets. Take your time to enjoy the serene atmosphere, perhaps sipping a cup of traditional Moroccan mint tea at one of the inviting cafes.

In the afternoon, we will embark on our journey to Casablanca. Whether you're heading to the airport for your departure or checking into a hotel for your final night, this signifies the conclusion of your unforgettable five-day itinerary in Morocco.

If Casablanca isn't your last destination, you can opt to conclude your journey in Tangier, Fes, or return to Marrakech, depending on your travel plans.
